Low Toxicity

Citriodiol® is classified in the lowest Toxicity Category 4, or ‘non-toxic’, for oral, dermal and skin irritation. However, it is classified in Toxicity Category 2, or ‘moderately toxic’, for eye irritation, so we recommend avoiding spraying near eyes.

Low Transdermal Rate

Tests have shown that very little (~4%) of Citriodiol® is absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream, minimizing the impact on the consumers body. For comparison, DEET has a transdermal rate of (~24%).

Suitable for Children & Pregnant Women

Tests have concluded that Citriodiol® is safe to apply to infants as early as 3 months, but Citrefine recommends application from 6 months. Please consult your healthcare professional before use on children.
